what is the ace attorney investigations 2? gyakuten kenji 2, or ace attorney investigations 2, is a sequel to spinoff game ace attorney investigations 1, and like that one, it has miles edgeworth as protagonist. it’s a little different from the main series in that miles tries to pwn everyone outside of court, and gets to walk around with a cute little sprite.
the game’s been out since 2011, but never was officially translated in english! fortunately, fans combined their powers to bring you a fantranslation, completed like, last year. because of all this, it’s definitely one of the lesser-known games, though!
why should you go through so much trouble to play this one game?
a large part of the story revolves around miles edgeworth’s background, and it does a lot of character building for him! the miles you all know without aai2 context is just a flat character in comparison. sorry. you have to play aai2
and in case you thought aai1 was a little boring; miles “logic” ability gets an upgrade here and now you can do “logic chess”, which is a lot cooler. miles finally joins the lawyer superpower club
you even get to play as miles edgeworth’s dad, gregory edgeworth, who is a lovely and relatable old man. you get to learn more about dl-6′s origins! it ties a lot of things up!
the return of a lot of characters you love! not just kay, lang and even ema are in this one, but also quite a few friends and villains from the previous games are, besides the plenty cameos. even missile is in this one!! i won’t spoil who exactly returns, but i promise it’s a super good time seeing all of them again
the fantranslation is extremely well-made and the writing meets the official localizations’ standards of funny and clever. also you’ll finally get to be in on the “aai2 characters saying ass” meme
there’s already a small, but active fandom for aai2, so you can read my fics there’s already a lot of fancreated content around you can use to fill the void in your heart after playing, and you’ll likely make a few friends!
the story and characters are just really good n like i don’t wanna spoil you but they’re REALLY GOOD this was one of the most satisfying games to play (thumbs up)
